These beautiful delete plates are made from billet aluminum. They fit the OM617 engines. 
They are used to seal off the block where the vacuum pump goes for builds that don't need a mechanical vacuum pump or vacuum at all.
When the stock vacuum plate fails, it drops steel balls onto the engine which can cause total engine failure.
